Along the Lek near Schoonhoven

Holiday feeling at its best: walking along the Lekdijk you will see numerous ships passing by! The polders behind the river are also very beautiful. A perfect route to clear your head again.

Wildflowers
This route takes you along the Lek near the nice silver town of Schoonhoven. Then you set off, right along the banks of the Lek. From the winding dikes and quiet polder roads you look out over flower-rich grasslands, young forests and the rippling water of the river with its numerous ships and yachts.

Schoonhoven
Back you walk a little more inland, through the polders around the Lek River. Here you will find an almost old-fashioned peace and space. Haven't you finished walking yet when you get back to the terrace this morning? Take a stroll into Schoonhoven, the town where goldsmiths have been active since the Middle Ages. You can still see this in the current street scene in the monumental silver workshops and silversmith houses. The Silver Museum is also worth a visit.
