The beautiful hiking area Moerenburg is located on the outskirts of Tilburg. City dwellers like to come here to enjoy the special nature - and for good reason!
Front Stream
You walk through the picturesque old center of Enschot towards the railway, which you follow to Tilburg. You soon leave the trains behind to dive into Moerenburg, a wonderful walking area. At least 20 hectares have recently been set up as new nature, with new hiking trails and a beautifully meandering Voorste Stroom.
Nature
Moerenburg is a popular recreational area on the outskirts of Tilburg. You will find farmers there, but also a lot of attention for nature and landscape: there are many rare plants, especially so close to the city! Moerenburg forms the westernmost part of Het Groene Woud, the large-scale contiguous nature areas between the cities's-Hertogenbosch, Eindhoven and Tilburg. The Groene Woud is so special that it has been declared a National Landscape.
