Description
This route takes you right through the legendary Kyffhäuser Mountains. You cycle from Bad Frankenhaus to the Barbarossa cave, Kelbra, Tilleda and Ichtstedt over a length of about 40 kilometers. Along the way you can enjoy beautiful views from the rocks of the mountains and much more.

The starting point of this route is in Bad Frankenhaus. It is recommended to pay a visit to the Kyffhäuser Spa before you start your tour. Here you can take a nice salt water bath so that you can relax on the road. Then it's really time to get on your bike. The route takes you past numerous special sights such as the Kelbra dam, the Barbarossa cave and the former royal palace Tilleda. The Barbarossa Cave is one of two caves in this region. Take a look here and get to know the underground realm of Barbarossa.
