Description
In Leiden you can enjoy beautiful historical buildings and Warmond also breathes the atmosphere of times gone by. You will also cycle past the Adermolen, a polder mill from 1941. You will make a big round around the Kagerplassen. Lijkermolen No. 1 is a special mill: together with Lijkermolen No. 2, these are the only twelve-sided stone mills in the country. You will see polder mills in abundance here, they are indispensable. The municipality of Kaag en Braassem even has the most mills in the whole of the Netherlands: 20! You will cycle on to Vrouw Venne, a seventeenth-century polder mill. You will also pass through Rijpwetering and Oude Ade, two picturesque villages. Squeeze your brakes to enjoy the characteristic atmosphere here!
