Description
This route takes you through the countryside between Breda and Tilburg. You will enjoy the many natural beauties here. You will also pass through some characteristic Brabant villages.
Dorst Forestry
From the starting point, you immediately enter the vast forests of Boswachterij Dorst. You will mainly see Scots pine trees here that were planted in the early nineteenth century. Take a deep breath and enjoy the fresh pine air. After you have cycled through Rijen, you cycle into De Blaak, a large forest area west of Tilburg. How wonderfully quiet it is here!
Old Warande
Further on you cycle along the edge of the Oude Warande: a star forest that was already planted in 1712 by Willem van Hessen-Kassel. It is one of the few well-preserved star forests in the Netherlands. Then you cycle along the leafy banks of the Wilhelmina Canal to Dongen. Here you see, among other things, the striking St. Laurentius Church from 1920. In the countryside you also pass several authentic long-façade farms. What a beautiful cycling experience in this region!
