Description
This route takes you through the countryside between Breda and Tilburg. You can fully enjoy the many natural beauties here. You will also pass through some characteristic Brabant villages.
Forestry Dorst
From the starting point you immediately enter the vast forests of Boswachterij Dorst. Here you mainly see Scots pines that were planted in the early nineteenth century. Take a deep breath and enjoy the fresh pine air. After driving through Rijen, you cycle into De Blaak, a large forest area west of Tilburg. How wonderfully quiet it is here!
Old Warande
Further on you drive along the edge of the Oude Warande: a star forest that was already laid out in 1712 by Willem van Hessen-Kassel. It is one of the few well-preserved star forests in the Netherlands. You then drive along the leafy banks of the Wilhelmina Canal to Dongen. Here you can see, among other things, the striking Sint-Laurentius Church from 1920. In the outlying area you will also pass some authentic long-gabled farms. What a beautiful cycling in this region!
