Bird Route - To Go 2018

This route takes you through the Hattem area. Here you drive through a vast polder country where you can spot many meadow birds. In Hattem itself you can take a look at the historic city center.

Drontermeer
From Oldebroek you immediately drive through the meadows via a quiet cycle path. That's a fun way to loosen up your legs. You will pass the Morren Estate, which dates from the seventeenth century. The homestead has been extensively renovated several times. The accompanying park is designed according to the English landscape style. Then you ride on the cycle path along the Drontermeer. Get a breath of fresh air while looking out over the rippling water.

Historical Hattem
Noordeinde is a charming village that was once located on the Zuiderzee. You cycle through the polders to Zalk, the village that became famous thanks to herbalist Klazien. Here you will see De Valk, a flour mill from 1860. Hattem is a beautiful old town. Here you will see, among other things, the fourteenth-century Dijkpoort. At Plaza De Haven you can enjoy a terrace with something tasty. You then drive a few kilometers through the forests of the Veluwe. What a silence!
