Estates on the edge of the Veluwe

Discover the special country houses and estates near Twello with this beautiful varied route. Your route starts in the rural area between the Veluwe and IJsselvallei. It is nice and quiet here to cycle between the meadows. You pass through Vaassen, a picturesque village. You then cycle along car-free roads to De Vecht, a former stopping place for traders from the emerging Hanseatic cities. In Twello you can admire the fifteenth-century village church. Here you will also discover the Holthuis, a country house that originally dates from the eighteenth century. You pass Huize Hunderen, another beautiful monumental country house. In Terwolde you cycle past the charming medieval village church. What a special region!
