Description
Experience farm life in the heart of the Randstad. Walk from a cozy farm campsite to the Zoetermeerse Plas for a cup of coffee on the farm and walk back through the Buytenpark via the polders of Stompwijk.
Zoetermeerse Plas
After a wonderful night's sleep at Camping De Drie Morgen, you set off. Along the edge of the Buyten Park you walk through a surprisingly wild landscape with heathland and beautiful viewpoints. You will see Galloway cattle, Exmoor ponies and Drenthe heath sheep. Are we still in the Randstad? You would say not, but it is true. The Zoetermeerse Plas, a little further away, has been dug for sand extraction. Now you have a wonderful view over the rippling water and the surrounding vast polder land. Variety is an asset with this route!
Stompwijk
On the north side of the lake you walk through the Prielenbos, a nice rough forest. Take a break at Boerderij't Geertje: you can have a tasty snack or drink here, but you can also take home a tasty souvenir or pack a picnic. In Stompwijk you will see some turning and drawbridges along the canal. You will soon walk back into the polder, after which you return to your starting point via the Buytenpark.
