Iron Tower
This 27.5 km cycle route takes you along the most important sites from the First World War in and around Diksmuide. In the Yser Tower, which you quickly cycle past at the start of the tour, the front comes to life again with original material such as uniforms and weapons, placed in lifelike decors. Follow the Frontzate until you reach the Stiltepad. A little further on you cycle past the Trench of Death, the Petroleum tanks and the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwhoekje.
Nice Diksmuide
At Stuivekenskerke you pass the Viconia Kleiputten nature reserve. If you want to visit the German military cemetery, go straight ahead at junction 12 instead of turning right. After 400 meters you will see the cemetery on your right. Then return to Junction 12 and turn left to continue. In this way you will return to the center of Diksmuide in no time. Here you can take a moment to reflect on the images of the Grieving Parents.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
