Description
Wissenkerke is a beautiful village on North Beveland, ideal for exploring on foot. In the outlying area you will experience the characteristic tranquility of the Zeeland countryside.
Flour mill
The route starts in the middle of the picturesque village center of Wissenkerke. Here you will experience the characteristic atmosphere of a Zeeland village. After a while you walk into the outside area. Here you can enjoy wide views of the empty polder land. Occasionally you see an old farmhouse. You also pass Landzigt, a former flour mill from 1869.
Eastern Scheldt
At the Hogehoeve Farm Shop you can stop for a bite to eat. For example, for a picnic on the dike along the Oosterschelde. Here you can enjoy some fresh fruit at your leisure, while looking out over the rippling water and the polders. You can then leisurely walk back to Wissenkerke along the dike. How peaceful it is to walk here!
