Picturesque Kortgene
You drive from Walcheren to Noord-Beveland via the Zandkreekdam (the second structure of the Delta Works), opened in 1960. From the cycle path you have a beautiful view of the Veerse Meer and the Zandkreek, a former arm of the Oosterschelde. In Kortgene there is, among other things, the fifteenth-century church tower. This is the only medieval building that survived the All Saints Flood in 1532. At Boerderijwinkel Hogehoeve you can stop off and buy something tasty for a picnic along the way.
Beautiful Veere
You drive to Walcheren via the Veerse Gatdam (the third structure of the Delta Works). In the village Vrouwenpolder you will see old farms and the beautiful Pilgrim Church from 1622. Veere is an old port town with a rich history. You will see beautiful historic buildings here, step off to enjoy the special atmosphere while walking. The last part you drive through the polder and nature reserve De Piet: what a silence!
