Round Abcoude, Ouderkerk and Diemen

This route takes you along rivers in the Amsterdam area. First you cycle along the Gaasp to the village of Driemond. Then you drive over the dike along the Gein. You look out over green meadows with grazing cows, pollard willows and old farms. You will also pass the Oostzijds Molen from 1874, one of Mondrian's beloved painting objects. Abcoude has a wonderful historic atmosphere thanks to the many monumental buildings and beautiful bridges. Cycling along the Wavre you look out on the Botshol nature reserve. You pass two forts, after which the route takes you along the banks of the Amstel to the picturesque Ouderkerk. The last part of the route takes you through Amsterdam and Diemen. The route ends with a terrace at House of Bird.
