On the Veluwezoom, you discover a patchwork of small nature reserves that together form the national park. In the middle of the forest, you experience a profound silence.
Nature Monuments
From Holiday Village de Jutberg, you can walk straight into De Veluwezoom. This nature reserve is partly composed of old estates, such as the Hagenau Estate, which you walk through from the Kolonieweg. Hagenau was purchased by Natuurmonumenten in 1911 and served as the impetus for the establishment of De Veluwezoom: the nature reserve that was declared the first national park of the Netherlands in 1930.
Red deer
You walk along winding paths and wide avenues through rolling deciduous and coniferous forests. The deeper you walk into the area, the quieter it becomes. When the sun shines, you see beams of light shining through the foliage: a beautiful sight. With a little luck, you might spot a roe deer or even a red deer. It is so lovely to walk here! After your walk, recharge your batteries with a delicious meal at Eeterij de Jutberg.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
