From the beautiful old Maassluis to the Rottemeren: the Randstad has so much green to offer! With an e-bike you can comfortably cover this route.

Historic Maassluis
You start today at Monsieur Paul, where you enjoy a cup of coffee. This lunch café is located in the historic city center of Maassluis. A beautiful route along numerous large and small waters takes you to the Abtswoudse Bos. Here you drive through a park landscape of trees, shrubs, ditches, puddles and small ponds. In the center of this former pasture land is the striking art object Mother Earth, an artificial hill surrounded by ash trees.

Rotten Lakes
Via Delfgauw and Pijnacker you cycle to the Rottemeren, several lakes on De Rotte that are connected to each other. After the reclamation, the surrounding polders began to settle and peat, so that the Rottemeren are now higher than the surrounding landscape. It is wonderful to cycle along the banks. Via De Rotte you drive to a few contiguous nature reserves: Park de Buitenplaats, Recreation area Broekpolder and the Aalkeetbuitenpolder. There is so much greenery in the Randstad!

Brasserie Monsieur Paul is a brasserie in the middle of the historic city center of Maassluis. A wonderful base for cycling along the Nieuwe Waterweg, through the Westland and through the old Delft. After a breath of fresh air, it is nice to get off at Brasserie Monsieur Paul. This catering facility has been a household name in Maassluis and the surrounding area for more than twenty years. What started as a croissanterie is now a busy brasserie with a warm, homely atmosphere. In summer it is good to relax on the terrace boat in the Noordvliet. Brasserie Monsieur Paul has recently opened on Friday and Saturday evenings, with tapas on the menu.

The most famous windmill type in the Netherlands. Windmills were used not only to produce flour from cereals, but also to reclaim polder areas. Natural energy. The most famous windmills can be found in Kinderdijk, really set up as a polder model. A must see!
