From the beautiful old Maassluis to the Rottemeren: the Randstad has so much greenery to offer! You can travel this route comfortably with an e-bike.
Historic Maassluis
Today you start at Monsieur Paul, where you enjoy a cup of coffee. This lunch café is located in the historic city center of Maassluis. A beautiful route along numerous large and small waters takes you to the Abtswoudse Bos. Here you drive through a park landscape of trees, shrubs, ditches, ponds and small ponds. Centrally located in this former pastureland is the striking art object Mother Earth, an artificial hill surrounded by ash trees.
Rottemeren
Via Delfgauw and Pijnacker you cycle to the Rottemeren, several lakes on De Rotte that are connected to each other. After the reclamation, the surrounding polders started to settle and peat, so that the Rottemeren are now higher than the surrounding landscape. It is wonderful to cycle along the banks. Via De Rotte you drive to a few connected nature reserves: Park de Buitenplaats, Recreational area Broekpolder and the Aalkeetbuitenpolder. There is so much greenery in the Randstad!
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
