Tour of the old Maas dikes of Midden-Delfland

Your route starts at Grand Café't Hoofd in Maassluis. From here you drive towards the coast with a view of the large container ships, through the Solleveld and the Kapittelduinen. You will encounter dunes everywhere here. Between Hoek van Holland and's-Gravenzande you pass through the Staelduinse Bos. This special nature reserve is located on a remnant of former river dunes and was established as an estate in the nineteenth century. A little further on you drive through the Spanjaards Dune, where the wind has free rein for new dune formation. You drive back via Schipluiden, a nice town with beautiful buildings. The Village Church dates from the seventeenth century, take a look! In the picturesque and centuries-old Maasland you cycle straight through the old village heart. A nice place to take a break!
