Description
On this route you walk past no less than three lakes in the Alpenwelt Karwendel: the Barmsee, the Geroldsee and the Grubsee. This walking route from Krün is suitable for young and old and is therefore a popular route among families.
Walking along the water
Put on your hiking boots and set off from the edge of Krün. The tour takes you over 13 kilometers through the magical mountain world in this area and past the numerous fascinating and quiet lakes that are characteristic of the Alpenwelt Karwendel. You walk through very varied landscapes along the way. From light forests to freshly mown meadows and beautiful lakes, you will find it all here. On a hot day, you can take a break to paddle in one of the waters along the route. Then you can go fresh and fruity again.
Breathtaking panoramas
You can also enjoy the Alpine panorama along the way with ever new views of the Wetterstein, Karwendel and Ester mountains in the area. In Klais and at the Barmsee you will find all kinds of opportunities to end the walk with a nice meal. At the end of the route you will return to the parking lot in Krün. On this route of about 3.5 hours you will conquer more than 170 meters in altitude.

The route is well marked, you just have to follow road numbers 405, 406 and 407. The starting point is the car park on Krottenkopfstraße in Krün, which can be reached by car as well as by bus.
