On this route you climb from the valley near Mühlau to Brünnsteinhaus on foot. Then you exchange walking for tobogganing. You descend back to the valley via the natural toboggan run. Along the way you can enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding area.
Climb to the Brünnsteinhaus
You start your hike at a parking lot in the valley of the Brünnstein. From here you follow the signs to the Brünnsteinhaus. After about half an hour, take the exit to the left towards Rechenau. From there you follow the Forstweg. This road climbs steeply at times, so it is a climb on this route. Then turn right behind the mountain watchman's hut to the Brünnsteinhaus. The route is well marked everywhere, so you just have to follow the signs. At the Brünnsteinhaus it is time for the descent. The start of the natural toboggan run is a stone's throw from the Brünnsteinhaus. This medium to difficult natural toboggan run is about 5.2 kilometers long, making it one of the longest toboggan runs in all of Germany.
The natural toboggan run
The toboggan run is only available to children to a limited extent and the track is not suitable for small children. The slope on the longer part is very steep in some parts and the road edge is not secured.
