Leave walking for what it is and go for a real winter activity: tobogganing on the toboggan run between Hocheck and Oberaudorf. This is Germany's only TÜV-approved winter toboggan run. Furthermore, the track was awarded'Very good\\\' in the ADAC Rodelbahn test of 2012.
On foot or by chair lift?
It is forbidden to follow the route of the toboggan run on foot. There is a separate road available on which you can climb the mountain on foot. You can walk to the starting point of the toboggan run and then toboggan back down. Not into climbing? Then you can also use the four-person chairlift to the start of the track. You will find the start directly behind Berggasthof Hocheck, about 200 meters from the mountain station of the chairlift.
The winter toboggan run
The track is almost 3 kilometers long with 25 turns. The maximum slope on the track is 24 percent. The natural toboggan run is laid out as a 3 meter wide forest road with a layer of gravel. The corners are wider with a slope that runs to the middle, so you don't fly out of the corner. Along the track you will find numerous places where you can safely wait a while. The end of the track is at the valley station of the Hocheck Sesselbahn.
More information
The toboggan run is illuminated daily until midnight. Every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, you can use the four-person chairlift to go up between 6:30 PM and 9 PM, weather conditions permitting.
