Via the Geuldal to the Dolsberg

From the nice Wijlre you can take a nice walk along the meandering Geul, at the foot of the Dolsberg. You walk back along the top of the hill, past Wijlre Castle. A beautiful varied route! The route starts in the beautiful village of Wijlre, at Brasserie Amuseer. Before you put on your walking shoes, enjoy a cup of coffee on the cozy terrace. You walk to the Geul along the Molen van Otten. This undershot water mill dates from 1776. De Geul is one of the most beautiful stream valleys in the country. The water meanders beautifully through the greenery here. Especially just north of Stokhem, the stream makes huge loops, beautiful to see! Via the 160 meter high Dolsberg you walk back to Wijlre. On this steep wooded hill you will find one of the beautiful hillside forests that South Limburg is known for. Back in Wijlre you pass Presseux or Wijlre Castle.
