Moretusbos
This route takes you through the Noordertuin of Antwerp, a tourist area that includes Brasschaat, Brecht, Essen, Kalmthout, Kapellen, Stabroek and Wuustwezel. Of all the sub-areas of the Antwerp Kempen, you will find the largest number of hectares of nature reserves here - perfect for a weekend of cycling through the green! You start in the Gemeentepark of Brasschaat. Then you cycle through the Moretusbos, a beautiful park forest, to Putte: a village that is more or less cut in half by the Belgian-Dutch border.

Kalmthout Heath
You cycle onto the Kalmthoutse Heide, a former lowland peat area that has been transformed over the centuries into a beautiful large heath with fens and pine forests. For most people, this is the best-known heathland in the wider region. It is part of the border park 'De Zoom' and consists of a semi-natural landscape: without human intervention - by cutting and sods - the heath would disappear. You cycle back to your starting point over rural roads.
