Borgloon?

Haspengouw is a fertile region with a rich past. The Romans drove out the Celts and from the third century onwards the monastic orders left their mark on the region. In the Middle Ages the nobility built grand castles and fortresses. Borgloon became the capital of the County of Loon. In the east the wealth lies underground: marl. The exploitation of this stone results today in a gigantic network of underground passages, 300 km long.

With no less than ten castles, vast vineyards, a hundred thousand fruit trees full of fresh fruit, a syrup factory, an abbey, cosy streets and downright beautiful nature, this is pure enjoyment of history in a beautiful landscape.
