Cycling along art in the rolling landscape of Borgloon

Special: a cycle route along various works of art in the open space of Borgloon. The works of art make you look at the surroundings differently and show the stories that are not always immediately visible.

Town Hall
You start at Tourism Borgloon in the beautiful Town Hall on the historic Market, where you will be informed about cycling routes and bike rental. Borgloon is a pleasant town in the rolling Haspengouw. It was once a fortified town from which the Counts of Loon ruled over their county. At its peak it was as large as the current province of Limburg! The name Borgloon is composed of'Borg\\\' and'Loon\\\' which means'castle in the middle of a wooded hill\\\'.

Then you quickly cycle to the old steam syrup factory, where syrup is now made in a traditional way. At the beginning of the last century, Borgloon was the birthplace of syrup production. Further on you discover the see-through church Reading between the Lines, which consists of 100 layers of steel plate stacked on top of each other in the shape of a Loon church. Depending on your position, the church dissolves completely or partially into the surroundings. Looking from the inside out, you have a very special view of the fruit landscape!
