Delft, South Holland, The Netherlands
Cycling route: 752594
Provided by: Groots Genieten
A wonderful tour through the vast polders of Midden-Delfland. Along the way you will discover numerous nature reserves and beautiful historic Delft.
Polders
You cycle along the canal between the Grote Plas and the Hertenkamp towards Zoetermeer. A little later the Poldervaart will lead you right past the Dobbeplas, which is worth taking a look. Further on you will pass the Oude or Hoge Polder. An idyllic spot near a polder mill built in 1861, but dismantled in 1918.
Delft
Like good wine, Delft does not need a wreath. It is wonderful to cycle through this pleasant old city. The old streets and canals in the city center are a feast for the eyes with their many monumental buildings. The fourteenth-century Nieuwe Kerk with the mausoleum of William of Orange is of course a well-known attraction, as is the Vermeer Center.
