The Regte Heide is a unique nature reserve with heaths, fens and prehistoric burial mounds. You will also discover a beautiful authentic stream valley. You walk straight through the lovely authentic village of Riel to the St. Antonius Abbot church and the stream valley of the Oude Leij. The stream valley is part of De Regte Heide south of Goirle, a hilly heathland area with high, dry spots, but also wet surfaces. The Regte Heide already measures 250 hectares and the area also borders the Brakelse Heide, a private estate of 45 hectares. The former heathland is planted with conifers, American oak and rhododendron. Along the way you will also encounter the Bels Lijntje, a cycle path over former railway tracks.
