The Land of Bastogne is an area where you can enjoy a rich and unspoilt nature. But this area was also marked by the Second World War. Fans of Band of Brothers will discover traces of Easy Company here.
War Museum
Bastogne (or Bastogne) is a vibrant city. However, the history of Bastogne is particularly strongly linked to the Ardennes Offensive: the Battle of the Ardennes, in December 1944 and January 1945. Be sure to plan time here to visit the various monuments and museums, such as the Bastogne War Museum where the route will quickly take you there. Opposite is the Mardasson, a star-shaped monument, a symbol of the sacrifice of the American soldiers.
Easy Company
Further on you will find two monuments, erected for soldiers who fell in the winter of 1944-1945 defending Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge. A little further along the road to Foy you will find foxholes of the Easy Company of the 101st Airborne Division on both sides of the forest. This regiment is immortalized in Band of Brothers. In Foy, you can see bullet holes where a sniper was knocked out by Sergeant D."Shifty\\\" Powers: A gunfight that returns in the series.
