Along the banks of the Amer

Follow the Amer to the east for a discovery tour of beautiful old villages. In the hinterland you will find the typical Brabant farmland. Good for a beautiful varied route!

Half Soles Line
In Hooge Zwaluwe you soon take a look at the more than 150-year-old windmill Zeldenrust. You continue to Lage Zwaluwe, formerly the terminus of the Langstraatlijn, a railway line from's Hertogenbosch. Raw materials and finished products were transported over this connection, hence the local nickname'Half Soles Line\\\'.

The Amer
Lage Zwaluwe is a beautiful village, the Kerkstraat still exudes the atmosphere of days gone by. Further on you will discover another nice place: the beautiful old village of Drimmelen. You cycle there along the banks of the Amer. The closer to the Amer, the wider the landscape here. Very special: in this part of North Brabant the soil consists of silted marine clay. A little later you pass through Den Hout, an atypical ash village. There is a lot to experience here!
