Castle Egmond
The route starts at Duinvermaak. Enjoy a coffee here before you drive through Bergen with its beautiful buildings. The Damlandermolen is a beautiful polder mill from 1700. In the polder it is wonderful to cycle through a succession of meadows, ditches and canals. Further on you will pass the idyllic surroundings of Kasteel Egmond, a nice moment for a few photos. The Varnebroeker is a polder mill from 1860.
Picturesque Alkmaar
Alkmaar is known for its cheese, but you can also experience a unique historical atmosphere while cycling along the canals. There are no less than 399 national monuments in the old city center, wow! You can see, for example, the Molen van Piet, a flour mill from 1769. You will also pass the fifteenth-century Grote Kerk. De Waag was completed in 1603. The famous cheese market is held on the square near this building in the summer.
