In 2015, Neeltje Jans led the way in the second Tour stage, won by Greipel. For this tour, the former work island serves as the starting and ending point for a beautiful tour around Burgh-Haamstede. The route starts at Proef Zeeland - Neeltje Jans Mosselen. At this specialty fish, crustacean and shellfish store you can have a drink and of course enjoy the fresh fish. From Neeltje Jans you drive over the Pijlerdam to Schouwen-Duiveland. On the dike along the Oosterschelde you pass the Plompetoren, an old church tower from 1468. From the top you have a beautiful panorama of the area. It is wonderful to cycle to Renesse through the wide polders. Then it's time for a lot of nature: you drive through dunes, wastelands, the Kasteelbos and Boswachterij Westerschouwen, the largest forest in Zeeland.

Fish nursery Proef Zeeland - Neeltje Jans Mosselen is a dynamic mussel farming company from Zeeland. Located on the Storm Flood Barrier, near Vrouwenpolder, the company grows top quality hanging and bottom culture mussels. Experience with mussel farming is passed on here from generation to generation. The Schot fishing family built a new building for Neeltje Jans Mosselen. In addition to a mussel production hall, a well-stocked specialty store in fish, crustaceans and shellfish with tasting was located in this building. The ideal place to taste Zeeland between Walcheren and Schouwen-Duiveland!
