Walking through the polders near Fijnaart

The route starts at the edge of Fijnaart. Stop at the Kadedijk at De Fendertse Hoeve for a cup of coffee! It is not surprising that you are walking on a dike here. Centuries ago, this area was not yet safe from the sea. During the infamous St. Elizabeth's flood of 1421, Fijnaart was completely washed away. Along the road you will see several beautiful centuries-old farms. From the hamlet of Kade you walk south. Here you will not find Brabant forests, but orchards and vast grasslands and arable lands with beautiful panoramic views. The Oude Appelaarsedijk is lined with deciduous trees on both sides. On the car-free dikes you can walk peacefully while enjoying the view. Back in Fijnaart you will see several more beautiful buildings. Such as Villa D\\\'Engelenburgh, the former rectory from 1873.
