City walk Amersfoort

There is plenty of cultural history to be found in Amersfoort. You walk along the Eem to the Kunsthalkade. A little further on is the Koppelpoort, the beautiful city gate from 1425. In the old city center you will pass De Drie Ringen Brewery. In Museum Flehite you can learn more about the history of Amersfoort. If you walk onto the Korte Gracht, you will see centuries-old buildings, Dickensian street lamps and - with a bit of luck - a boat sailing over the narrow watercourse. With a little imagination you are back in 1917, the year of De Stijl: the art movement known, among others, by Mondriaan. The Mondriaanhuis museum is located in the nineteenth-century building where the painter was born. You will also pass Hofje De Armen de Poth. The route ends at Restaurant & Koffiebar Het Lokaal.
