Ready for a refreshing walk? Then come to National Park de Loonse en Drunense Duinen. Here you will find everything to make your walker's heart beat faster.
Charming Giersbergen
The route starts at Hotel Restaurant D\\\'n Dries. Enjoy something tasty here, before you walk to Giersbergen. Here you will find almost only monumental thatched long-façade farms. You will still experience the atmosphere of times gone by. Just outside Giersbergen you will walk along fields and grasslands, before you enter the dense forests. What is immediately noticeable: the silence! The inhabited world seems many, many kilometers away here.
Brabant Sahara
After a while you walk into the heart of the Loonse en Drunense Dunes. You see heathland here, but also the drifting dune that gave this nature reserve its nickname of 'Brabant Sahara'. As you walk through the sand, you experience the emptiness of a desert. After a while you walk back into the forests that have been planted to prevent the drifting sand from advancing to inhabited areas. Afterwards you can enjoy a drink on the terrace at Hotel Restaurant D\\\'n Dries.
