Round of Great Enjoyment

A wonderful cycling tour through beautiful Twente: nice and rural, with a few special places along the way to stop for a break. After a cup of coffee and cake at Hotel Jachtlust near Hertme, you set off. Between Almelo and Oldenzaal you drive through a typical Twente landscape full of avenues, meadows bordered by hedgerows and fields full of herbs. You will also pass a lot of water, such as the Het Hulsbeek recreation area with its beautiful lakes. Further on you will make a special discovery. The Stift van Weerselo is a monastery where, from the fourteenth century, unmarried noble ladies were provided with a good education. Also stop off in Saasveld, or Soasel as they call it here: the stained glass of the beautiful Roman Catholic St. Plechelmus Church from 1926 is worth it!
