Reed collars
You will see many eighteenth and nineteenth century houses and farms here. What a nice atmosphere! From the Horndijk you look out over the Vuntus, one of the lakes in the Loosdrechtse Plassen. A little later you walk on the footpath between the trees and reeds. Occasionally you have a view over the water. How quiet it is here!
Outdoor places
It is also nice and quiet to walk along the meandering Vecht. Soon you will pass through Loenen aan de Vecht. This town enjoys a protected village view because of the well-preserved old village center. You can see the eighteenth-century country houses of Beek & Hof and Leeuwendijk, among others. You walk back to Oud-Loosdrecht along the lakes. As the last point of interest you pass Fort Spion, the fortification from 1847 that was part of the New Dutch Waterline.
