Hiking route: 748045
Provided by: Groots Genieten
From Oud-Loosdrecht you walk over the dikes along the Loosdrechtse Plassen. You also walk a bit along the Utrechtse Vecht.
Reed collars
You see many eighteenth and nineteenth century houses and farms here. What a nice atmosphere! From the Horndijk you look out over the Vuntus, one of the lakes in the Loosdrechtse Plassen. A little later you walk over the footpath between the trees and reed beds. Every now and then you have a view over the water. How quiet it is here!
Country estates
It is also nice and quiet to walk along the meandering Vecht. You will soon come through Loenen aan de Vecht. This town enjoys a protected village view because of the well-preserved old village centre. You will see the eighteenth-century country estates Beek & Hof and Leeuwendijk. You walk along the lakes back to Oud-Loosdrecht. As a final sight, you will pass Fort Spion, the fortification from 1847 that was part of the New Dutch Waterline.
