De Ronde Venen, Utrecht, The Netherlands
Cycling route: 748044
Provided by: Groots Genieten
Rugged nature and monumental buildings: you will find them in abundance along this wonderfully quiet route. You will soon be driving over the Baambrugse Zuwe: the former mining axis that runs straight through the Vinkeveense Plassen. You won't see any farms here, but you will see more and more villas. You pass through the picturesque Baambrugge, further away is the equally beautiful Loenersloot. Here you can admire the thirteenth-century Loenersloot Castle. Just past Vreeland you pass the Voorste Molen from 1635. A little further on is Fort Kijkuit. The Loosdrechtse Plassen is a nature reserve that consists of a picturesque landscape of rippling water, swamp and reed collars. You drive back to Vinkeveen along the Vecht and through the polders.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
