De Ronde Venen, Utrecht, The Netherlands
Cycling route: 748044
Provided by: Groots Genieten
Rugged nature and monumental buildings: you will find them in abundance on this wonderfully peaceful route. You will soon be driving over the Baambrugse Zuwe: the former development axis that runs straight through the Vinkeveense Plassen. You will not see any farms here, but there are many villas. You will pass through the picturesque Baambrugge, further on lies the equally beautiful Loenersloot. Here you can admire the thirteenth-century Loenersloot Castle, among other things. Just past Vreeland you will pass the Voorste Molen from 1635. A little further on lies Fort Kijkuit. The Loosdrechtse Plassen is a nature reserve that consists of a picturesque landscape of rippling water, marsh and reed beds. Along the Vecht and through the polders you will drive back to Vinkeveen.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
