Description
This route takes you through Boxtel and Liempde, two picturesque Brabant villages. In the countryside you cycle from one beautiful nature reserve to another.
The Kampina
The route starts at Sankofa Bed & Breakfast, a comfortable overnight stay in the Brabant countryside. From here you can drive straight to the beautiful old village center of Boxtel. A little later you cycle into the vast forests of De Kampina. Enjoy cycling between deciduous and coniferous trees, while enjoying the views of stately buildings or flowering fields. Take a deep breath and smell the fresh air.
De Mortelen
Just above Oisterwijk you drive through De Mortelen: a small-scale scenic landscape of poplar groves, coniferous forests and grasslands and arable lands. The landscape is reminiscent of Brabant's rural countryside before the land consolidation. Further on you pass through the star forest of the Velder Estate, which was created in 1750. There are nine avenues here, you see them meet at the central point: the Negen Dreven. The country house dates from 1878.
