Oosterhout, North Brabant, The Netherlands
Hiking route: 748030
Provided by: Groots Genieten
The North Brabant Oosterhout has a surprisingly beautiful old city centre. In the countryside you can walk through the Holy Triangle.
Hill
Thanks to the beautiful historical buildings, this square enjoys a protected cityscape. Here you can see, among other things, the Vrijheidshuis from 1610. It is nice and pleasant to walk through the old heart of Oosterhout. Look back from the Torenstraat for a nice view of the short blunt tower of the Sint-Jansbasiliek.
Holy Triangle
At junction 70 you will pass through the Holy Triangle. In this protected village view there are three abbeys: the Abbey of Our Lady, the Abbey of St. Paul and the Catharinadal which is located in the centuries-old small castle De Blauwe Camer. What a special place! Through the rural area and the leafy bank of the Wilhelmina Canal you walk to the Slotje Limburg, one of the seven castles that were built in Oosterhout in the fifteenth century.
