Description
Midden-Delfland is the rural area between Rotterdam and Delft. Here you walk through an old peat meadow area with extensive polders. What immediately stands out: the silence!
Typically Dutch
You walk largely on roads lined with pollard willows. You will hardly find any traffic here, nor will there be any farms. To the left and right you look out over a typical Dutch landscape of straight ditches and vast meadows where cows graze.
Footpath
After a while you will see the Abtswoudse Bos coming closer on the horizon. You walk along the edge of this nature reserve for a while, after which you walk along the footpath through the meadows. Here you can fully enjoy the high skies and the silence. You have plenty of time here to catch up with your fellow hikers. Or to leisurely spot meadow birds, they occur in large numbers here.
