Description
On the edge of Vlaardingen lies the Broekpolder. This route takes you through this rugged nature reserve of forests and water features. You also walk along the Vlietlanden.
Vlietlanden
The first part you walk on both sides of the Vlaardingervaart, a drainage canal that dates back to the Middle Ages. It is nice and quiet walking here with a view of the Broekpolder and the Vlaardingen-Holy district. Further on you walk along the banks of the Boonervliet. On the other side are the Vlietlanden, a never reclaimed nature reserve.
Vlaardingen
In the Broekpolder you will find a beautiful mix of forests, open spaces and water features. It is wonderful to wander through nature here. And that so close to Rotterdam! Ideal to clear your head. A little later you walk into Vlaardingen-Holy. This green district is named after the Knight's Court Holy.
