The route from Kotten to Aalten runs from east to west and passes, among other things, a cross-border nature reserve. The Wooldse Veen forms a whole with the Burlo-Varingholter-Venn. It is a swamp and heathland area with special plant and animal species. An old smuggling route to Germany runs straight through the area.
