Cycling through Castricum, the dunes and the Zaan region

From Landgoed Duin & Bosch you first cycle into the North Holland Dune Reserve. You ride along a winding cycle path through forests and dunes. How wonderfully quiet it is here! All you hear is the rustling of the wind and the chirping of the birds. On the edge of Beverwijk you will pass the Westerhout estate and Akerendam country estate. Further on is Fort aan de Sint-Aagtendijk. From that point on, the landscape changes: you cycle through the Zaan region with its vast polders. You will drive through Westzaan, a picturesque ribbon village where you can still experience the atmosphere of a bygone era because of the many old buildings. You drive to De Oude Keuken via Heemskerk and Castricum. Time for a nice lunch or coffee and cake.
