The Pete
The route starts in Nieuwdorp. From here you drive into the countryside. Wide grasslands, roads lined with rows of trees, high skies: you will experience the characteristic Zeeland landscape here. What immediately stands out: it is wonderfully quiet here. Sluis de Piet is a hamlet near the monumental pumping station and lock complex of the same name. On the road you drive along the woods that lie on the Veerse Meer, they belong to the De Piet recreation area.
Old flour mills
From the Muidenweg you have a beautiful view over the rippling water of the Veerse Meer. A nice place to grab a bench. De Hoop in Wolphaartsdijk is a striking flour mill from 1808. The Nooit Gedacht is also a flour mill, dating back to 1872.'s Heer-Arendskerke is a beautiful old village, in the middle of the characteristic Zeeland ring road is the fifteenth- century village church.
