Walking through the Renkums Beekdal

The route starts at Restaurant Campman. From here you walk straight into the forests of the Renkums Beekdal. This hilly area forms a connecting zone between the Rhine and the Veluwe. Once upon a time, the wheels of water mills turned here to make grain, rapeseed oil and paper. Now you walk along babbling brooks, wet grasslands and through dense forests. What a silence you experience here! Ideal to recharge the battery. You pass the Organic Vineyard Wageningse Berg. It is the first organic vineyard in the Netherlands. In 1998, the first vines were planted on this vineyard. Further on you pass a striking water tower from 1948. Its predecessor was destroyed in 1944 because it was used as a lookout tower over the Rhine. After your walk, you can enjoy the natural beauty on the terrace of Restaurant Campman while enjoying a drink and a snack.
