Terneuzen, Zeeland, The Netherlands
Hiking route: 740795
Provided by: route.nl
The route starts at the edge of the city. You immediately have a beautiful view of the Western Scheldt and the ships sailing to Antwerp or to the sea. Along the Otheense Kreek (which takes its name from the village of Othene, which was incorporated by Terneuzen) it is a quiet walk through the park with its old pollard willows. Then you walk through a number of districts that were built in former old polders, such as Zuidpolder and Noordpolder. The old centre of Terneuzen is located on and around the fortifications that were built around 1600. Especially in Tuinpad you will find many monumental buildings that evoke an atmosphere of times gone by. At Taste Churchill you can enjoy a cosy terrace, after which you can get some fresh air on the banks of the Western Scheldt.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
