From the Bommelerwaard to the Loonse and Drunense Dunes

The route starts at Bed and Breakfast Oan d'n Kikkerdijk, a cozy and comfortable overnight stay in Aalst, Gelderland. You'll cycle along the dike along the Afgedamde Maas, offering beautiful views of the flower-filled floodplains. You'll pass the Gebr. Remmerde, an eighteenth-century grain mill. You'll cross the Maas, after which you'll cycle via Drunen into the Loonse and Drunense Dunes. The further you cycle into the forest, the quieter it becomes. And suddenly you'll enter Giersbergen, a hamlet with beautiful, historic farms. Through the polders, you'll return towards the Maas. You'll cross the river, after which you'll cycle along the dike to Wijk en Aalburg. Here you'll see the Twee Gebroeders, a grain mill dating from 1872. You'll also pass the centuries-old village church.
