Veere, Zeeland, The Netherlands
Cycling route: 738688

Hardly anywhere else in Europe do deciduous trees grow so close to the coast as in De Manteling. But at a price: many trees remain small due to the biting west wind and the blowing salt. You pass through characteristic villages, such as Vrouwenpolder where the Pilgrim Church from 1622 is located. Further along the water is one of the pearls of Zeeland: the fortified town of Veere. You can admire beautiful monuments, such as the Grote Kerk from 1348. The town hall with its beautiful facade dates from the fifteenth century. So just get off the bus, stroll around and take a look at the cafes and shops. The best way to experience the unique atmosphere! In Grijpskerke you will pass't Welvaaren, a flour mill from 1801.
