Cycling through the Betuwe from Zoelen

In the Betuwe you will find everything that makes cycling so much fun: a landscape of floodplains, polders and fruit orchards. You can also admire old towns full of sights, such as Erichem and Oranjestad Buren. From the dike along the Lower Rhine you look out over the polders and recreation area Het Eiland van Maurik. You will also see some old farms. The river here forms the border between Gelderland and Utrecht. On the other side you can see the church tower of Rhenen. Wijenburg was once an important castle in the Duchy of Guelders. The building was saved from demolition at the beginning of the twentieth century and restored to its former glory.
