A detour through Petten and the surrounding area

This route takes you for a detour through Petten and the surrounding area in North Holland. Ideal as an appetizer! The route starts at Restaurant De Watersnip. You can have a cup of coffee and something tasty here before exploring the landscape of vast grasslands and straight ditches. At junction 81 you cross the Hondsbossche Zeewering. This was constructed at the end of the eighteenth century. In the dunes you can get a breath of fresh air and look out over the North Sea. The Sandbar, a cozy mini beach pavilion, is open during the summer season. Petten had to make way for the construction of the Atlantic Wall in 1943, which is why you mainly see post-war homes here. At Brasserie Zo Hab you can enjoy a delicious meal, after which you can leisurely walk back to De Watersnip.
