West Maas en Waal, Gelderland, The Netherlands
Hiking route: 736485

Dreumel is a nice village in the Land van Maas & Waal. Ideal for exploring on foot. In the countryside you can enjoy the fruit orchards and nature along the Waal.
Picturesque Toddler
At the Kerkpad you will see a medieval church building of which the nave is missing. The tower (from 1300) and the choir (from 1500) are still there, so you can rightfully call it a special church. Further on you pass the nameless, restored corn mill from 1845.
Three Dykes Point
Just above Dreumel you walk through the Dreumelse Waard. This nature reserve along the Waal consists of the Vonkerplas (a gravel pit), moist forest and meadows. You can spot many birds here, because of the calcareous water in the Vonkerplas stream valley plants such as witch's milk and cross thistle grow. Walking on the Waaldijk you have beautiful views of the floodplains and the river. Just above the Veluwe you pass the Drie Dijken Punt: a unique place in this river country.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
